Why is a stray dog whining at my door wanting to come inside?

A street dog(female) lives right next to my house. She's eating good, and barking on other dogs as natural. But from last two days she keeps whining on my door. She wants to come inside desperately. But she never does that. Keeps whining all night and day.

It could be that this dog wants some attention for you, and wants to spend time in your home. If you are feeding her, she probably feels affection towards you and wants to spend more time with you in the home. She may also want to get out the weather and conditions, and be inside where it's dry and comfortable. It's up to you if you want to allow her to enter your home. I hope this helps :-)

It sounds like she's a little scared, which is understandable given it's a new place. It's good on you to look after her, and be concerned about her sleeping outside. You can try leaving a trail of treats into the home, so she has to venture into the house to get the next one. Be sure to move slowly and quietly around her, and once she is inside the house, you can shut the door. You can try getting her inside with a collar and leash as well. If she allows you to carry her, you may be able to pick her up and carry her inside. Finally, you can lead the garage door open a little, and make a bed inside there for her. Leave out food and water next to the bed, and she may be tempted to go inside the garage. I would do that as a last option, as I realize you may not want to leave a door open at night. In the morning, I would recommend taking her into the vet to scan her for a microchip to see if she does have an owner.

I'm on the computer inside while my dog is outside and she keeps whining and crying at the door for me to acknowledge her. Ignoring her is what I've been doing but hearing her for an hour straight gets really annoying and frustrating. What can I do?
You might consider a distraction. Something like a busy bone or throwing a toy. If you feel like this could be caused by anxiety you'll want to let your doctor know. He/she may be able to prescribe medication to alleviate your pets discomfort. You may also consider installing a doggy door.

When I come home my dog always whines, cries and jumps at the door to come in because she saw me. She won't stop until I bring her inside. What are some ways she can learn that she can't cry her way in?
This is quite a normal behavior - she wants to be involved once you come home. Altering your routine to take her for a short walk immediately when you come home or giving her a food treat or chew toy to play with in the garden as soon as you arrive home may help to redirect her attention, you will have to continue with such routines as she will expect the new routine instead! Ignoring or correcting the behavior is also possible and would require a lot of time and patience and should be undertaken with advice from a behaviorist so as not to create fear or anxiety if you try to over correct the behavior by punishment

Sudden change in behaviour. I am feeding a stray dog for a week. Everything was normal- I was feeding him and he kept his distance. But yesterday I gave him some boiled eggs and since then, whenever I meet him he comes very close near my legs and toe
He's coming closer because he trusts you and wants to show you affection for feeding him. You are showing him love and attention by feeding him, and he wants to give you the same in return. It's lovely that you are feeding him, but if you don't want to keep him, I suggest giving the RSPCA a call to come and get him. They can get him veterinary treatment to make sure he is healthy and find him a home.

My dog keeps whining and I don’t know why, could it be because of the cold weather or is it another reason?
It could be the cold, or it could be any other number of things, like stress, pain, discomfort, wanting a toy that is out of reach, itch, anxiety, etc. If there are other symptoms, I would have Bella checked out by a vet. You may try to watch her closely to see if there is any consistency in the timing or activities around the whining. You could also try calming supplements like Adaptil ( http://m.pet-supplies.drsfostersmith.com/search?view=grid&w=adaptil&visitorID=&cartcount=0&wishcount=0&division= ) or Zylkene to see if that could help.

So I took my dog outside for a few minutes then brought him back in . He kept whining so I gave him a shower but he is still whining so I took him outside for even longer and he was okay but then he started whining again and shaking . Why is that ?
Whining is an attention seeking behavior and can be a sign of anxiety, pain or potentially boredom. The shaking can also be a sign of pain or anxiety. If you think he might be in pain you should see a veterinarian to see if they can localize the pain to a specific area. If you think he may be anxious it could help to try to identify what might be triggering the anxiety - some dogs have storm or noise phobias, or he might be anxious about a change in routine or environment.

Why dog my dog whine? She does this a lot with no reasoning, in the car, at home, going for walks. I dont understand as to why she whines so much.
Whining can be caused by a number of different things - pain, anxiety, frustration, or loneliness are all common reasons that dogs might whine. It can also be an attention-seeking behavior in some cases, especially if she has learned that this is an effective way to get your attention. Older dogs may also whine more as a symptoms of canine cognitive dysfunction, which is similar to Alzheimer's disease or dementia in humans. If this is a recent behavior change for Sally Mae, I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam to see if there is a medical reason for the whining - she may be painful or not feeling well for some reason. If this is normal, you could try a DAP pheromone collar along with a natural calming supplement like Zylkene or Composure to see if this helps, or make an appointment with a veterinary behaviorist to evaluate her in person and help determine what may be causing this behavior.

Hi, we think the dog we adopted has a minor separation anxiety. She seems to do ok when we leave, but whines when we’re home. If she’s in the crate while we’re sleeping or cooking she will whine and bark. We don’t want to reinforce that behavior but
It is possible Trish could be feeling a bit anxious, or just wants to be with her new people after all this change! If she is OK to be allowed out in the house when you are home, I would just leave the crate open for her to enter and leave at her leisure and not leave her crated unless you cannot attend to her. If she's still working on housetraining, gating off the house so that she has access only to easy to clean areas such as the kitchen, or keeping her tethered to you with a leash can help prevent accidents while she learns. There's a stray cat I've been feeding it will let me pet him but it's very cold and he does not want to be in laundry room and howls. Should I make him? He's in a shelter I fixed to block him in from wind on carport but it's only eight degrees. Thank
It's so lovely of you to look after Reggie! If he's howling in the laundry room, he's likely stressed out and he might not like staying there for the night. That being said, if you don't mind the howling, he can deal with it for the night so he can stay warm! Be sure to have food, water, and a litter box in there for him, and you can make him a comfortable bed to sleep on :-)
