My chihuahua licked ear drops. Why is he gagging and throwing up?

I have a teacup chihuahua named peewee. He only weighs 3 lbs. He has an ear infection so the vet gave him ketomax to put in his ears twice a day. This evening I accidentally dropped a few drops on the counter and he licked them up. Since then he has been gagging and trying to throw up. Will he be alright? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 8 years and 1 month old | 3 lbs

Ketomax should not be toxic if a small amount is ingested , but it probably tastes bad and could cause nausea. If he continues to attempt to vomit you may want to see a veterinarian since the gagging might also be unrelated.
