My bunny has hay in her eye, what should I do for a new mom?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 15 days old | 5 lbs

My bunny has gave birth to at least four little ones I’m not sure due to them being so small I don’t want to touch them, well the female bells has gotten a little piece of hay in her left eye right in the middle and I was woundering if I could have any advice for help I’m Concerned?

If the hay is actually embedded in the eye, then I would consider this an emergency and recommend taking Bells to the vet right away. If the hay is simply just resting on the outside of the eye, then you can flush it out with normal saline. Saline flush can be bought at the pharmacy, or supermarket in the eye care section. Flush the eye for 1-2 minutes in order to remove the piece of hay. This is a two person job, because Bells will need to be held in order to do this effectively.
