My young puppy won't eat his food. How can I get his appetite back?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pocholo doesn't want puppy food now (wet and dry). I'm worried because he doesn't eat. I'm giving him beef pro, at first he liked it. But now, not already. He is still very young and he still needs the puppy food. I really discourage him to eat human food. What will I do? What else can I give to him to get back his appetite?

Poncholo could be feeling ill, causing him to not want to eat. You are absolutely correct he needs to be on puppy food, and I would recommend keeping him on puppy food until he is a year old. You can try soaking his dry food in gently warmed low sodium beef or chicken broth, or mixing in some boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in with his dry food. If these methods don't tempt him to eat, I would take him into the vet for an exam.
