Why is my dog losing fur in patches? Could it be her new food?

My Boston terrier/frenchie pup is losing small patches of fur throughout her body. The patches are each about this side of a pea but there are a lot of them. Some spots she is completely bald but others she is just starting to lose fur. We changed her food 3 weeks ago but this was happening before we switched her too. Although is has worsened since the switch. Could her new food be causing this and what does this mean for her? Help please!

The signs you are describing are compatible with a fungal or parasitical infection of the skin. I do not think it is related to the new, and probably the link is just incidental. Usually food allergies manifest with intense itch as well. A check up and some skin tests (hair plug and skin scrapes) are essential to determine precisely the underlying cause and treat appropriately.
