A dry or wet nose means nothing. Throughout the day his nose may go through periods or dry and wet. Monitor for discharge, lethargy or difficulty breathing. If he is eating, drinking and acting normally then he is likely fine.

If he is acting fine, playful, active, eating well, drinking water, eliminating normally, doing everything that he should do as a normal healthy puppy, there's nothing to worry about. A dry or warm nose is just that, dry or warm, and it doesn't reflect anything more than that. If however, he doesn't want to eat, is lethargic, sleeping more than normal, anything not his normal behavior, he should be seen by your vet as soon as possible for an exam.

The nose in the pictures looks pretty normal to me. Dogs will have wet or dry noses with lots of different factors, including ambient temperature, air humidity, hydration level, the last time the ate or drank or licked their nose, etc. A dry nose doesn’t mean illness.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to the veterinary service. We often get this question about how a dogs nose should feel; dry or wet. As long as a dog is eating, drinking, and playing normally, the nose being either dry or wet does not matter one bit. The only time when having a dry nose can be a problem is when it becomes so cracked that it’s painful to the touch but this does not happen often. So again, having a dry nose is not a problem at all. Thanks a lot for your question. Have a nice day.
