My dog's nose is red, fleshy, and bleeding. Why is he scratching?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old

My dog (a 1 year old Schnauzer) has small balls like red fleshiness on his nose and it's apparently bleeding or it has a kind of liquid because his hair is wet. He's been scratching his nose on the floor and been laying down all day. It's January 1st here (Mexico) and there's no vets available, please help! Thanks in advance

This sounds like some type of allergic reaction, although it's difficult to say for sure without seeing these lesions on Tommy. You can request a consult and I can take a look at a photo to try to give you a better idea what might be going on; just select the "request a consult" button below.
