How do I stop my puppy from whining for attention and everything?

How can I keep my puppy from whining for everything? He had only picked up on this behaviour like 2 weeks ago but it's fairly annoying that anytime he wants something, he starts whining and we reenforce the behaviour because we want him to stop. Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 7 days old

if you are giving in when he whines, you are encouraging the whining (he gets what he wants, right?) You need to ignorre the whining. Don't scold; don't reassure. just ignore him completely. He may increase the behavior at first, since it has always worked in the past. But if you stand your ground, it will eventually stop for good.
