Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 1 month old | 8 lbs
Hi Doc, I'm house sitting my sisters dog, Zack (miniature Doberman pincher) and he has gone into heat. He was due to be neutered in October but has obviously missed his appointment. He obviously wants to hump any moving human as hus brother is a 10 year old St. Bernard who won't allow him anywhere near him. His testicles are now very sensitive and Zack is in pain. What can we do? Our local vet is on vacation and will only be back on 3 Jan. Please advise. Many thanks, Esther

I'm afraid there is not much you can do, being in heat (which is actually all the time with unneutered males) is not a disease so you cannot treat it, you can only get him neutered to stop this behaviour, nothing else will. regarding the testicles you can try hydrocortisone cream if they seem sore.
