Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 10 years and 2 months old | 10 lbs

I have a Maltese, 10 years old. Male. He will not let me touch his stomach usually he loves belly rubs but he growls every time I try. He will not let me pick him up either. He has a hx of IVDD but he lets me touch his back and is moving fine. What could be wrong?

He may have a tummy ache, which is making him uncomfortable. Give it a few days to a week to see if he is still uncomfortable in his belly. If he continues to show sensitivity after that time frame then it's a good idea to just get him examined by your vet to make sure there is nothing to worry about, like organomegaly (enlarged organs) in the belly.
