My dog was bitten by a rat. What should I do? Is a vet visit urgent?

lottie needs to be seen by a veterinarian who will prescribe antibiotics for her. unfortunately rats can transmit nasty diseases to dogs and people, such as rat bite fever, salmonella etc. so please take her to a vet right away.

    IF your dog has a bite wound, you need to bring her to the vet in order to get it treated, it doesn't matter if it's from a rat or some other animal, those wounds tend to get infected fast and require antibiotic treatment.
