My kitten has a cold, now my other kitten is lethargic and vomiting.

I got a 3 month old kitten to keep my 5 month old kitten company a week ago. He has symptoms of a cold, sneezing and running eye. He seems to be on the mend. However, my 5 month old became lethargic late this afternoon and vomited about an hour after his dinner. Did my 5 month old kitten catch my 3 month old's cold/virus?

Yes, it is possible that your three month old kitten caught Mycroft's virus. I would take them both into the vet for an exam, as they may benefit from medications. In the meantime, you can try a few home remedies in addition to the vet visit. First, you can try starting them on an L-lysine supplement - this is an amino acid that has been shown to help the immune system fight off respiratory infections more effectively. Enisyl and Viralys are both good brands, and can be purchased over the counter without a prescription - just follow the dosing instructions on the label based on your cat's weight. If they are congested, you can also try using a humidifier or bringing them into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections.
