Could my cat's eye bald spot be from pancreatitis or vet meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 9 years and 11 months old | 15 lbs

My cat recently was diagnosed with pancreatitis, we got him back from his stay at the vet and the next day I noticed a bald spot above his eye, my boyfriend said it was there before we took him but I never noticed it until we got him back, could this be a side effect of the medication he was on it the disease itself? I spent a lot of money when we took him in and I didn't want to take him back unless I knew it was serious

Thinning hair between eye and ear region is quite common and if present before he went in it is not related to treatment. Monitor for further hair loss, scabbing or irritation, taking weekly photos can help compare
