My dog's penis bone is broken. Why can't he pee? Why delay surgery?

What causes broken bone in urethra to penis making dog unable to urinate? The vet is waiting 2 weeks to do surgery?

Trauma would be the most common cause of a fractured os penis (urethral bone). I am uncertain as to why your veterinarian has postponed surgery in this case. It might be helpful to call your veterinarian or his technician and ask them these questions. I am certain they can provide you with the answers.

    The bone you are referring to is called the os penis, and is a small bone within the structure of the penis. It's possible an injury such as falling or running into something caused it. It would be best to talk with your vet to see why they recommend waiting on surgery, as there may be a medical reason behind it such as waiting for traumatic swelling to go down, or another cause such as underlying illness.
