What human foods can I safely give my dog as an occasional treat?

It's okay to give small amounts of table food as an occasional treat if you wish - many owners do this, and I do it with my dogs as well :) Just stick to fairly healthy foods like carrots, green beans, or small bites of lean meat (roast beef, chicken, turkey, etc.) Avoid anything greasy or fatty, since these can cause stomach upset in many dogs. You should also avoid onions, chocolate, grapes and raisins, as these foods are toxic to dogs.

    Generally speaking, I would avoid feeding your pet table food. However, healthy treats such as baby carrots, green beans or sweet potatoes (non-seasoned) would be an option. If she is begging at the table, maybe try to keep a few of her treats handy around dinner time.
