My cat vomited a lot. What diet is best for his sensitive stomach?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 7 months old | 99 lbs

Justin had an episode of vomiting (more than 10 times in a few hours, vomited water). He received iv fluid therapy for 2 days and is now ok. His blood exams, ultrasound, xrays was normal.Vet said it could be triaditis or a virus infection. Do you think it could be triaditis? He looks normal. What should he eat from now on? Normally he ate grain free low carb dry food, and a little human food (mostly meat products, and sometimes yogurt). Fatty human food seemed to upset his stomach.

This episode could be due to a pancreatitis or a self limiting gastrointestinal inflammation or infection. I would not suspect a triaditis based on the tests your veterinarian performed so far. The diet you are giving at this stage sounds good to me. I would limit as much as possible the human food, especially if fatty.
