Can I dissolve my cat's azithromycin pills in water for feeding?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My kitty won't swallow her azithromycin pills or eat them mixed in food. Can I grind them up into water and use an oral syringe?

Azithromycin disolves very badly in water, you should speak to your vet or pharmacist about adjusting her prescription for a suspension/syrup which is formulated as a liquid and diluted appropriately so as to retain activity
