Why is my dog suddenly lethargic, shaking, won't drink, dry nose?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 lbs

Yesterday my dog was doing what looked like was fine, but this morning he's just been lying around not acknowledging anyone. He is still eating, but won't drink water. He's been shaking. His nose is dry, but not scabbing up. Do you have any idea what could be wrong with him? We've got him wrapped up to stay warm, but we don't know what else to do.

Poor Zeus! It sounds like he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He could have an infections, parasite, metabolic/endocrine disease, musculoskeletal pain, etc. and your vet can run lab-work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat his problem. Please call your vet and have him seen as soon as possible.
