Why does my dog have recurring itchy red patches and greasy coat?

My dog has small red patches on her skin that are itchy and her coat seems greasy .. I have taken her to a vet a couple of times who have given me tablets and told me to use s medicated shampoo . With no real diagnosis But it keeps re occurring. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years and 6 months old
