Best food, natural itch relief, and care for my German Shepherd?

What is the best dog food to feed my 5 year old German shepherd? I want him to be the healthiest he can be. Should I give him any vitamins? He also scratches and chews himself excessively. I’ve taken him to the vet and they gave him Apoquel. I want to stay away from medication and try something more natural. What shampoo/oil should I use? What can I feed him? are there any lotions, oils or sprays that would help with his itch that I can buy at the store? What can help with hair loss? I usually recommend a high quality dry food such as Orijen, Acana or Evovle. if your dog suffers from food allergy it can also help with the itchiness. unfortunately itchiness and allergies are not easily treated and i have yet to find a natural product that actually works, in some cases Omega 3-6 supplements can help with some cases of allergies.
