Pet's info: Dog | American Cocker Spaniel | Male | neutered | 7 years and 11 months old
My parents have decided to put Leo, our cocker spaniel down this Friday, and I have less than two days to fight for him. He's 8y.o. and I think there may still be hope for him. Raw, flaky, and red skin tissue on nose, paws, eyes Drinks more water than normal, voracious appetite Has energy but has trouble getting around because of paws Was on steroids + antibiotics, helped temporarily Weight gain Is there hope for him or have the parents made the right call?

I am sorry this may be too late and not much comfort to you at this point. His nose looks very infected and painful. Without a biopsy to know what the disease is, it is hard to treat and keep him comfortable. Drinking more water and eating more may be side effects of a disease or from the steroids if he still takes them. If he feet hurt him and he cannot get around well then letting him go may be best so he does not live in pain. You want him to be happy and comfortable. If the medications are not bring him comfort, and controlling the disease, then you have little options left. I am so sorry.
