My cat has a growing grey bump on his eyelid. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 8 years and 10 months old | 16 lbs

My 8th male has a grey-ish bump on his upper eyelid, right on the rim. It's still rather small, but has definitely been increasing in size over the last 6 mis or so. Now I see a grey dot that's appeared on the lower lid, directly below the first. It doesn't seem to bother him, it doesn't look infected or seem painful. Should we be worried? Picture is not great :(

The picture did not attach, so I do not have that information, but we commonly see eyelid margin tumors in older dogs. These are most commonly benign meibomian gland tumors. I am attaching a link with more information below. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2463 I would recommend having your vet examine this and determine if it is causing a problem and should be surgically removed. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
