Why is my dog's rash spreading? Is it allergies or time for a vet?

Hi. My dog aery has had this awful rash for awhile. At first I thought it was a scratch but it has spread. She has had all the necessary shots and has been fixed. As a puppy (and no if she can get away with it) she likes to eat her toys I Of course watch that. It seems like she has a belly ache a lot cuz she eats a lot of grass. I am currently feeding her a chicken flavored grain free dog food. Is this just an allergy and/or does she need to see a vet? Our vet is an hour away

Oh that rash on Aery looks very uncomfortable. It could be due to allergies or she could have a skin infection caused by bacteria or yeast. Yes, she definitely needs to see a vet for this problem especially since it's been ongoing for a while. Without knowing what is causing it, there's no way to say what can be used to treat it, and both these things can only be done by a vet. I would make an appointment for her for the next couple of days. Good luck, I hope this helps!

My dog daisy has started to get a rash around her belly area
It looks like she has a skin infection/dermatitis which could be secondary to allergies. She should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. She may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, and/or other medications to help treat. You could also bathe her in a medicated shampoo, like Douxo Chlorhexidine shampoo, and see if that helps.

My boyfriend walk her in the yard recently now she has a rash on her belly it started small now it spreading what could this be?
Hi and welcome to Boop by Petco! Harley Quinn looks as if she may be pretty uncomfortable-there are a few possible causes of her irritation. A rash or irritation can come from a contact dermatitis (ie contact with the grass, something the grass was treated with, etc), inhaled allergens (ie seasonal allergies), food allergies (ie protein source in food-chicken or beef usually) or sometimes even flea allergies (although usually those are seen on the back of the neck and rump region). Unfortunately there are not many over the counter options, although you can start with an oatmeal based shampoo to remove any contact allergens from her abdomen (although I would bathe her entire body). Since her rash appears to be widespread on her abdomen I would recommend a physical exam by a veterinarian to start treatment and give her some relief. Good luck with Harley!

My dog has had a rash on her belly for about a week. We’ve restricted diet, used oatmeal shampoo to bathe, and today it seems worse with some of the small red dots having white centers. Other than the rash she is doing well. Do I need to take her in?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is possibly due to allergies. It really comes down to figuring out what is causing her allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). Unfortunately, going to the vet is the best option, as you'd need to have the area examined in person and it would be impossible to tell the cause over the internet. Causes of hairloss and irritation can be from a number of things including allergies (potentially to the grass if it's touching, or something used on the grass such as fertilizer) to the environment, food, parasites, metabolic issues, or even skin infections if the area is spreading. Neosporin usually isn't good to put on a dog as it can make them ill if they lick it, and if its spreading even with at-home treatment it likely isn't helping. An Elizabethan (cone) collar can be used to prevent licking and chewing to see if it helps with irritation, and a T-shirt if you suspect the grass is irritating Bamboo's belly may help you rule this out as a cause. However, if it continues, having your vet take a look in person is needed.

My dog seem like she is getting a rash by her stomach and vaginal area
This is probably due to a severe allergy, although it could also be fleas or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat her with a high quality flea treatment (e.g. advocate or advantage), then get her to the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might revile an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try discovering the cause of the allergy. Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair the skin lesions (steroids and antibiotics). simultaneously you should start her on a prescription hypoallergenic diet for at least 2 months. Hopefully you will see some results after all this, if not you and your vet should consider putting her on a long term allergy treatment (Atopica or Apoquel).

So I recently adopted my dog from my coworker so she wouldn't have to take her to the animal shelter. Recently she has breaking out on and off on her stomach but today was the worse I've seen it. It doesnt itch because she is not scratching but I hat
That looks quite uncomfortable. I'm surprised that she isn't super itchy. I don't see any obvious causes in the picture - such areas that make me suspicious of a bacterial or yeast infection. My top guesses be allergies (flea, food, environment, or even a contact allergy such as being allergic to your laundry detergent), with skin parasites or a superficial infection definitely possible. Since it's such a large area, it's going to be hard to apply an ointment - if you have a medicated bath for another dog (one that is for superficial infections) that may help. Wiping the area with witch hazel could calm in down. A mild (1%) hydrocortisone cream could also calm down the area. I would definitely recommend getting her to the vet as soon as possible. They are likely to need to do an exam saying she's in good health before she can be added to the insurance, and she's not going to qualify until her skin is better.

My dog as had a rash for about 3 weeks and not to sure what could cause it.We were feeding him BLUE Life Protection Formula® Large Breed Adult Dog Food - Chicken & Brown Rice I am attaching a picture so you can see what I am talking about.
It looks like he could have a skin infection and/or an allergic dermatitis. You could bathe him with antibacterial dog shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, have him examined by a vet for treatment. He might need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, and/or other medications to treat.

Hi, recently my dog has gotten these lumps and rashes on her stomach, privates and thigh/armpit area (front and back legs). We Think maybe allergies but tried researching and having found anything. It keeps her up a lot licking, scratching and biting
This looks like a secondary infection due to allergy or pyoderma which is a bacterial skin infection. Either way it requires being seen by a vet to establish exactly what is going on, then treat appropriately. If allergy we need to distinguish if it is good or environmental. Primarily the skin infection needs treated though, likely with antibiotics and medicated shampoo.

How to treat rash? He is a very difficult dog to take to the vet.
This can be caused by various reasons such as fleas, mites ,fungal infection, bacterial infection and allergies. the first 4 needs to be ruled out before we start treating for allergies. in order to do that first de-flea him with a high quality flea treatment such as advantage spot on, if it doesn't help - take him to the vet in order to check for/treat the other possibilities. If everything is ruled out, then an allergy treatment can be started. Usually an hypoallergenic food is a good way to start together with anti histamines. if it doesn't help - the best solution is a medication called Apoquel which treats allergies with great success and without side effects.
