Is it normal for my dog to be picky and skip meals sometimes?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 46 lbs

I feed my dog twice a day , Sometime she won’t eat in the morning other times she won’t eat in the evening, can dogs be picky and just skip a meal.This doesn’t happen all the time maybe once or twice a week!

Yes, there are some dogs that are not food motivated. If Chloe skips meals, but is otherwise acting normally, and there is no vomiting or diarrhea, then I wouldn’t be too concerned. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

    As long as Chloe is still eating her regular meals I think you can continue to monitor her appetite - some dogs can go through phases where they seem picky. If she is vomiting or having diarrhea while also acting disinterested in food you should see your vet. If she continues to act picky and lethargic and your gut tells you something is wrong the safest thing to do is to see your vet.
