My 9-week-old puppy cries in his crate when I'm in the room. Why?

If my husband and I are in the room with our 9 week old puppy, Marley, and he is in the cage, why does he only cry when I am in the room? After time he calms, but only when I ignore his attempts for attention after about 15 minutes.

If you have previously given into him over your husband that may be why he only cries when you are in the room. If he is crying in the cage it is ok to leave him and then once he is quiet you can get him out. He is still young and is still learning.
