Dog paw abscess still oozing after antibiotics. Is it infected?

Pet's info: Dog | Bernese Mountain Dog | Male | neutered | 3 years and 2 months old | 110 lbs
abcess right above his paw licking it wont stop bleeding and pusing given a round of antibiotics and having xrayed in 2 days afraid of infection since the antibiotics are done an it is still oozing

Many problems can cause abscesses such as puncture wounds, migrating foreign object, bone infection, and even a sterile inflammatory disorder called panniculitis. I would encourage you to have a follow up appointment with your veterinarian and consider an x-ray and culture of the wound as the next step. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It looks like an abscess. Please,take Jennex to your local vets for an appointment. He probably will need to get the abscess lanced, flushed and he will be prescribed a course of antibiotics.
