My cat keeps throwing up brown liquid and meowing. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | neutered | 8 months and 13 days old | 7.6 lbs

Bunny’s been throwing up a brownish liquid from the past few days. He’s been meowing excessively and throws up approximately once in a week. Why is he throwing up so frequently? We give him large amounts of wet food and dry food too, is overeating the cause of this?

Overeating could be the cause, but it is unlikely. It sounds as Bunny is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
