Is my male cat's erection and biting during grooming normal?

My male cat has been becoming erect when he’s cleaning himself lately and there’s been a few times he’s biting himself while doing so. His litter box has been normal with the same amount of pee and I haven’t seen any blood, so I’m confused as to what it might be. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 26 days old | 9 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! As long as he isn't licking down there more often than he as before then this is normal. When they groom around their penis it can become erect. It may also be time to get him neutered. If he is excessively grooming down there he should see a Vet and have his urine tested.
