Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 5 lbs
My Chihuahua is 11 years old. Today I was gone for a while and when I opened the door she started yelping uncontrollably as if she was in pain. Even when I picked her up to calm her she was still yelping and I couldn't console her. She stopped a bit when I took her outside but was still shaking a lot. I inspected her for any signs of pain but she doesn't appear to be hurting anywhere. She will yelp when I touch some spots but when I touch them again to confirm she hurts there she won't yelp.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is likely due to some degree of pain or discomfort. I highly recommend that you have Sassy evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to investigate what could be the source pain and treat accordingly. At the very least, they could prescribe pain control medications. Good luck!
