My rescued boxer has non-itchy skin spots. Could they be scars?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 50 lbs

I rescued a boxer who's about 50 pounds under weight. He had these spots when we got him and they don't seem to itch or bother him at all. His other owner said they were scars and I'd love another opinion please.

The lesions on the belly do look like scars, but I can't tell about the ones on the back without taking a closer look. Sometimes pictures make things look a bit different than they do in person. If they really don't seem to be bothering Joker at all, it is definitely possible they are scars. I recommend monitoring the lesions over the coming weeks. If you notice any changes such as redness, flaking, increasing in size, or if he does become itchy, then definitely get him in to your veterinarian.
