My female cat growls at the new adopted male cat. What can I do?

I adopted a male cat that is fixed today . Well I already had a female cat that is fixed and she wanted to play but he wanted to look around. Now all she is doing is growling at him what can I do ? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

Give them some time. A day is very soon for them to take to one another. She smells all the places he has been and it can be over whelming and scary for her. Once those smells go away and she realizes he is not going anywhere, they will learn to live together. Make sure they do nit have to share food and water or this can lead to competition and more jealousy
