My new cat has a wet, oozing eye. Can I bathe her before the vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 months and 15 days old

I adopted this cat today.her eye look ls like this.the previous owner said that the eye is ok now but it's oozing a little and is wet.I will take her to vet but is it ok to take her to bath for now?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, ulceration or infection, among other conditions. I highly recommend that you have Rissoto evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment as this looks severe. Further therapy would be based on the findings. I recommend avoiding a bath at this time until the eye is evaluated. Good luck and best wishes!
