Why does my older dog have bloody anal sores and trouble pooping?

Our schnauzer terrier mix has a bunch of sores around his anus that are bloody and have puss. He is an older dog still has an appetite but it seems he is having trouble pooping. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 13 lbs
