Why does my dog bark at noises and pee by the door when I'm gone?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 years and 9 months old | 26 lbs

Hi, About 12 months ago our started barking when he hears a noise in front of our house. The last few weeks he has urinated by the front door 2-3 times a week when we are at work. We believe the mailman delivering could trigger this behaviour? Thanks for any reply.

There is defiantly a stressor our there initiating this behavior. Since it only occurs at a single spot I would place him back in a kennel and keep a white noise machine in to help mask the sounds. They also make pheromones you can use in that area to help keep him calm
