My 7-year-old cat is weak, slow, and skinny. What holistic vet advice?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Female | spayed | 7 years and 1 month old

My 7 year old cat has no energy and seems to be getting weak. Eats and drinks well, elimination seems normal, but seems too skinny. I am worried that she is eating too much meat and not getting enough calcium, or that because there is some grain in Greenies, that she could have a reaction to them. She is moving so slow. I did notice a little congestion in chest or breathing, and has had brownish eye discharge. I want a Holistic Vet that uses Naturopathic remedies, not drug medicines. Advise me.

Portia is beautiful! Thanks for including a picture. If you are feeding Portia a homemade diet, I would certainly recommend consulting with a veterinarian to make sure your meat and calcium ratio is correct. This is an excellent website for feline nutrition. http://catinfo.org It is very important to find a veterinarian near you that can examine Portia in order to make sure that she gets the correct treatments. I would start your search for a holistic veterinarian here. https://www.ahvma.org/find-a-holistic-veterinarian/ Good luck! I hope that was helpful and you can find a vet near you to help with Portia. Thanks for using PetCoach.
