My dog broke his leg. Why isn't he walking on it after 11 days?

My little pom had a plate put in a broken front leg after a big dog attacked him, its been 11 days and hes still not walking on it does that aeem normal. Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 8 years and 7 months old | 5.5 lbs

I’m sorry to hear about Teddy! Yes it can take a while for animals to bear weight on the broken leg. This is especially true of the small breeds who so easily get around on 3 legs. If it’s been 14 days and Teddy still isn’t putting ANY weight on the foot, please go see your vet to make sure things are ok. Also definitely give any pain medication you’ve been given.
