I have a sparrow I found at school, but the problem is that it's nails became so sharp that I'm worried that it might jump and land onto someone's eyes or any soft areas. So, I wanted to ask that can I trim the sparrow's nails? I know this is silly to ask but I was not sure whether I can trim a sparrow's nails or not since it is a very small bird. (Another question) is that it scratches it self too much and white dandruff-like stuff keeps falling out of it's body, what should I do?

Small nail clippers can be used to take the points off. Sandpaper perch covers or concrete perches can be used to maintain length. Consider an exam with your veterinarian or an experienced avian vet to diagnose mites or skin infection. Bathe or mist with warm water once or twice weekly to promote preening and healthy plumage.
