Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 9 years and 1 month old | 9 lbs
kitty has occasional blood and almost always mucous in her stool. Some diagnostics have been done and probiotics for 30 days was recommended along with a diet change . Can you recommend a probiotic /digestive enzyme please ? ( looking for something more natural with no extra unnecessary ingredients.) she is currently on Merrick limited ingredient turkey canned and natures variety grain free dry. wondering if I should take her off dry? Also, any better wet/raw food reccs appreciated. Thank you .

Since cats are obligate carnivores, they do not need the carbohydrates in dry food. Even grain-free dry food have carbohydrates since they are necessary to make a dry food. This is the best website I have found about cat nutrition. http://catinfo.org Merrick is a great food, so you might try stopping the dry food before you make any other diet changes, but my cats have been doing well on Wellness as another option for you. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but since you are in CA, Just Food For Dogs has started making food for cats as well. https://www.justfoodfordogs.com For a probiotic suggestion, I would consider VetriScience probiotics. https://www.vetriscience.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=900714120 Good luck! I hope that was helpful and answered your questions. Thanks for using PetCoach.
