My dog is shaking head & panting after Panalog ear drops. What to do?

Question

Pitbull terrier was prescribed Panalog for ear infection today. Gave dose (maybe a bit more than I should in 1 ear) and dog shook a lot out. He was shaking his head a lot and panting afterwards. I gave benadryl (50mg) to help him with scratching & sleep. He calmed down and Slept an hr. But he's awake and has been periodically shaking his head/scratching since then and can't get comfortable enough to sleep. What to do? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 1 month old | 70 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Hypno! The medications likely need more time to work. I would call your Vet when they open and discuss having prednisone and/or another pain medication prescribed until he is more comfortable. If he is still reacting to the medication like that in a few days then he may be having a reaction to it and another ear drop might need to be tried. I hope this helps and I wish Hypno the best!
