Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | neutered | 9 months and 29 days old | 10 lbs
So i adopted a shy cat about a week ago and he won't get out from under the beds! the shelter told me iv done a great job getting him to play and be more social with me as they couldn't even get him to let them touch him. I can get him out a couple times a day and when he is out he loves attention and being pet. But i dont want him to get in a habit of staying under the bed, is it bad if i block off the bed and force him to stay out? I love this little guy and want to break him from his shell!!

Since it is his safe zone, I would not block it off all the time but it is very reasonable to block it off for an hour or so and get him acclimated to new areas and realize they are just as safe. Just remember to take it slow and give lots of treats or rewards when he stays out and be socialize.
