Nursing dog with watery eyes/nose: Is Azithromycin safe to use?

My dog weighing 26 kgs is having watery discharge from her eyes and nose as well. She is nursing her 17 days old puppies. What dose of Azithromycin is suggested?

Unfortunately, by law it is illegal for the experts at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to give the dose information for any drug, including OTC drugs, without seeing the animal in person first. That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for Laila. Finally, the safety of using Azithromycin in nursing dogs has not been determined, so I would not recommend using it in her. It is never say to try to treat your dog yourself, as you could accidentally give a medication that is harmful to her or inappropriate to use. I would take her and her puppies into the vet today for an exam and treatment. I hope this helps!
