My puppy has begun humping my other dogs and recently he had a fully erect penis that wouldn’t go away for a good 10 minutes. This puppy is not neutered yet and showing some signs of toy aggression as well. Would now be a good time to get him fixed? Or should we wait until six months for him to stop growing?

I would get your puppy fixed now. It's fine to get them neutered as young as eight weeks of age, and if he's showing some sexual behaviors such as humping other dogs, he could be approached sexual maturity. Keep in mind that neutered dogs can still get erections. I would speak to the vet about neutering him, and I would also ask for a recommendation to a professional behavioral expert. You want to stop that toy aggression now before it gets worse, and a professional behavioral expert would be best to work with you on that. Good luck, I hope this helps!

No, there is nothing else to do at this point other than to monitor him for any continued bleeding from the penis or blood in the urine. Dogs actually have a bone in their penis called the os penis and they can fracture it during mating/humping behaviors. The fracture, if bad enough, can lacerate the urethra causing a bad problem. He really shouldn't be doing this behavior at this young age. They don't reach sexual maturity until a minimum of 6 months age. If he is humping it is more likely a play or dominance behavior. I think a vet exam on Tuesday is a good idea as long as he seems OK til then.
