My cat is lethargic, not eating, has a neck lump. Is a vet urgent?

I have a young male cat ( maybe two years old) who is indoor/outdoor. Usually big appetite, very spunky and outgoing. The last three days he is very lethargic, stays in one place all day, and will eat or drink maybe once every 24 hours. has urinated a decent amount this last time but poops were small. He also has a hard bump on his neck, under his jaw so I think it may be his lymph node. Is it possible this is just something like a virus that will pass or is he in immediate need for care?

An infection is definitely possible with what you are describing. I also worry about lymphoma or other cancers with this sort of history, but they are not as common in younger cats. I would be more suspicious about an infection. Considering Hammy seems to be quite afflicted and there is potential for this to be something serious like FeLV, or plague, it's best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. It doesn't appear to be an emergency right now, but it's best to have him seen in the next 24 hours. I hope that helps and Hammy gets better soon.
