Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed
My rabbit is being treated since 3 weeks now, for loss of fur under her chin and near genitalia. 1st, she was given 3 injections, and Monday, she was given 1. She is treated with some antibiotics too. 2 days back, she lost appetite, lethargic. However, she started eating food yesterday,(esp fruits).Today,we had her checked by another vet, who checked her temperature and said it's 96F, serious. He gave meds, within 1 hour, she started eating and walkin, but should I be scared of hypothermia anymore?

Hello, and thank you for your question. I'm sorry to hear that Whisky has been unwell. Rabbits can be very sensitive to antibiotics, so I would check to make sure the type that was administered to her is safe for rabbits. Has she continued to do better since you posted your question? An important supportive treatment for rabbits that are unwell is to offer them consistent nutrition in the form of a powdered supplement mixed with water, and fed through a syringe. A search on Amazon shows me that it is available in India: https://www.amazon.in/Oxbow-Critical-Care-Supplement-141gm/dp/B0021WZJD8 It is also important to provide pain medication, even if there are no obvious signs of pain. Your vet will be your best source for that. Otherwise, continue to keep Whisky's environment clean and dry, and offer her a well balanced diet of mostly timothy hay and a small amount of pellets and greens. I hope this helps, and that Whisky feels better soon.
