Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 9 days old
I just adopted a new pug puppy into the family, but I have 3 ferrets. She tries to eat the ferrets. How can I train her that the ferrets are not food?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Basic training is very important. She is really young and it will take time. To protect the ferrets when they are out she needs to be leashed and with treats trained to "leave it" and "come." Or she is crated when they are out. Their cage shouldn't be on the ground where she can get to it. Right now the focus needs to be to protect the ferrets until she learns to not go after them. I hope this helps!
