I gave my dogs cat worm medicine by mistake are they gonna be ok they appear to be fine so far its hartz ultraguard rid worm liquid for cats and kittens contains 275 mg of piperazine per teaspoon

Hello. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Great question. Yes, they should be fine. If you gave the cats dog dewormer that would not be good. Do not give the dogs any more dewormer at this stage. Wait at least 7 days before you give them the correct dewormer. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

However, it is very important to find out if there are worms present so that the one that is used is used against something in particular. If the right dose is used, in general dewormers tend to be safe. If you are concerned about worms in your kitty, it would be best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a great day!
