What causes a cat's bloodshot eye and when should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 12 years and 10 months old | 22 lbs

My cat have developed a blood shot eye. What can this be?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. There are many causes of what you are seeing. Allergies, trauma, irritation or a foreign object in the eye are all possible causes. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Deeley so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps!
