My cat struggles to clear his throat for weeks. Should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Male | 5 lbs

Hello. My cat appears to be struggling to clear his throat/bring up a furball. It often sounds quite uncomfortable but I don’t think He’s in any pain. I’ve obviously heard him do this before but he’s had this for a couple of weeks. Should I take him to the vet?

It sounds like Slinky may have an obstruction or difficulty breathing. This can be caused by hair balls but also other conditions such as heart disease. I definitely recommend having him seen by a vet as soon as possible. Your vet can perform bloodwork and x-rays to rule out any concerning medical conditions. I hope all is well!
