Why is my cat losing weight despite eating and being active?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 13 days old | 4.4 lbs

My cat whitey is nowadays growing lean and thin. Even though he is eating three times a day,the quantity if food is to low.Very often I find him eating grass in the lawn.He is not showing any symptoms of weakness and is active enough but still I'm concerned as he was chubby and fluffy being a kitten but now he is being lean day by day... Please help me find a solution to my query...

I am sorry to hear that Whitney isn’t doing well. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Intestinal parasites, partial obstruction, FIP, FELV, and FIV are all concerns I have in young cats with weight loss. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
