Why does my pug's stomach skin get darker in summer and lighter in winter?

Why does a pugs stomach change color ? White in winter time and a blackish brown/tan in the summer time ? Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 4 years and 9 months old

Hello. I am not sure exactly what you are seeing on your pug, but with allergies, the skin will sometimes become more pigmented with melanin. This is similar to when we tan from the sun, but in dogs, the skin is responding to chronic irritation. In the winter, the allergens go away, so the skin heals & becomes pinker.
